Another deal fell through....

The score now is 0 - 4. A couple of weeks ago, Kumar mentioned to us, that one of his clients who resides in the Traditions Complex is considering to put up his townhome for sale.

He asked us if we were interested to take a look at the home and try and make a deal with him before he put the house on the market. We had nothing to lose and agreed to take a look.

We took at look at it last weekend and the house looked ok. Nothing great in terms of accessories and upgrades. The whole house was just carpet and the cleanliness of the house, wasn't that great. The owner owned 2 cats(that explained it).

Once we were done with the inspection, we were ready to talk. There was already a home in the same complex with the exact floor plan( and upgraded floor, kitchen) sitting on the market for a month now at 699k.

I got a hint from Kumar, that the seller was looking at something around $675K.
Since the house needed atleast 10-15K worth of spending before moving in , I started my bid at $660K. That was almost immediately rejected. We thought about it for another day and made another offer for $670K. The seller suddenly got greedy or something, and now said that he was looking at $685K.
I thought that wasn't professional at all. But we stretched our creative imagination and made one final offer at $675K. The seller didn't budge.

It was time for us to say "ba bye" and move on...

here we go again....

Ok, here it goes again. I'm really starting to loathe Kumar's call after 8pm these days. Just heard that we got our behinds whooped again by another higher offer. Dang! Sometimes I wonder what kinda professions these folks are in, to be able to make such insane offers. May be I need to get a second job peddling drugs or arms or something to own a decent home in the bay area. Geez.

At this point, I'm starting to feel that mountain view is something we'd love to live in, but cant afford. The overbidding insanity is still quite persistent here in the 9404* zip code, contrary to the other properties we've been seeing in san jose and sunnyvale.

I don't want to lose focus now and get incoherent in my thoughts and lose it.
So, another one down the drain. The search continues. Another day spent, another home gone, but I know there's that ONE for us somewhere. WHERE????????????????
we'll see.
